Bridgton, ME – [October 21, 2025] – A new chapter is unfolding in Bridgton, Maine, with the highly anticipated opening of Hotel Bridgton set for summer 2026. Designed to reflect the town’s defining character while introducing a new level of hospitality to the region, the 65-room boutique property is being developed from the ground up as a project with purpose; one that honors Bridgton’s vibrant community spirit, fuels economic growth, and positions the town as a premier four-season destination in Maine’s Lakes Region.
Entrepreneur Justin McIver, founder of Main Eco Homes and third generation Bridgton native, is the owner and leading the development of this project. This influence can be seen in the property’s use of natural materials, sustainable construction practices that will include installation of solar panels to offset energy usage, and intimate design details, creating the warmth and comfort of a lakeside retreat rather than a traditional hotel.
“As a life-long resident of Bridgton area and with a family history in Maine that goes back eight generations, the development of Hotel Bridgton is deeply personal to me,” said McIver. “My vision is to create an authentic destination experience that feels like a true home away from home for our guests, while also establishing the hotel as an economic driver for the town and the region. This project represents a generational milestone for Bridgton. Historically a former mill town, our community continues to evolve as a commercial centerpiece for the region and as a sought-after leisure destination, and Hotel Bridgton is poised to serve as the natural homebase for those visiting Maine’s Lakes Region.”
Situated on the Stevens Brook and just off Main Street, the hotel is steps from Bridgton’s vibrant downtown. Its location positions guests at the heart of a four-season destination with skiing, waterfront recreation, hiking, golf and even the Fryeburg Fair within easy access of the hotel.
The economic and cultural impact of Hotel Bridgton is equally significant. With its elevated design, thoughtful amenities, and hospitality offering, the property will set a new tone for tourism and anchor Bridgton’s place on the map for years to come. The development is expected to create approximately 25–30 year-round jobs and serve as an engine for local commerce by drawing visitors from across the Northeast. Backed by strong community support and local endorsements, including the Bridgton Chamber of Commerce, Maine Preservation, and Norway Savings Bank, the project reflects a unified commitment to rural revitalization and sustainable growth.
“With its meticulous design, Hotel Bridgton will capture the rich culture, history, and spirit of this special area. The impact of the hotel on tourism, future prosperity for local employees, and town pride may well be limitless for years to come,” said Daniel Walsh, president and chief executive officer of Norway Savings Bank. “Norway Savings Bank is proud to play a small part in ensuring that this project comes to fruition next summer when Hotel Bridgton opens, providing visitors with an extraordinary experience, memories, and access to the natural beauty of the Lakes Region and its welcoming people.”
Inspired by the textures and palette of the Lakes Region, the project is being built, developed, and designed by McIver’s Main Eco Homes in partnership with Portland, Maine-based Olympia Hospitality, which will also manage the independent hotel upon opening. Additional partners include Barba + Wheelock & The Architectural Team (TAT), JBrice Design International along with Norway Savings Bank and Kennebec Savings Bank.
“At Olympia Hospitality, we are proud to be part of this transformational project in Bridgton,” said Sara Masterson, president of Olympia Hospitality. “The hotel’s design draws inspiration from local craftsmanship, regional art, and Maine’s natural beauty, creating a true sense of place in every space. As a management company specializing in independent hotels across the Northeast, we are excited to help bring Hotel Bridgton to life as both a welcoming destination for travelers and a meaningful addition to the community.”
The hotel will feature 65 thoughtfully designed guest rooms and suites, including ADA-compliant accommodations. Guests can enjoy an indoor heated pool, fitness center, meeting, and event space for up to 50 persons, plus a cozy bar and lounge. Outdoor amenities include a spacious patio and riverfront green with Adirondack chairs, fire pits and space for lawn games.
To encourage dining locally and exploration of the community, Hotel Bridgton will introduce a grab-and-go food and beverage concept on-property while spotlighting the town’s independent restaurants and shops, pubs and taverns, to a café, art galleries, music venues and more in downtown Bridgton.
By blending thoughtful design, modern comforts, and deep community integration, Hotel Bridgton represents more than just a hospitality project, it reflects Bridgton’s enduring spirit and a catalyst for the town’s next chapter.
