“Lewiston Strong” Week at The Colisée honors community, resilience, and renewal
LEWISTON — The Colisée will once again serve as the heart of the Lewiston community this week as it hosts a full slate of events honoring the city’s strength and unity. From hockey to live music to community fundraisers, “Lewiston Strong” will bring people together in the same arena that, just one year ago, was a place of remembrance and healing for victims, families, and neighbors affected by the 2023 tragedy.
Schedule of Events
• Thursday, October 23 – The Lewiston MAINEiacs face the Connecticut Chiefs at 7:00 p.m. in a “Lewiston Strong Night.” Fans wearing Lewiston gear or blue clothing will receive free admission in honor of the community.
• Friday, October 24 – A Cornhole Tournament organized by TB Events will fill The Colisée with friendly competition and fun for all ages.
• Saturday, October 25 – Country artist Frankie Ballard performs live with special guests 12/OC, presented by 99.9 The Wolf and Easy Rent-All.
• Sunday, October 26 – The Lewiston Police Department will take the ice against the Boston Bruins Alumni team. Youth fans wearing hockey jerseys will receive free admission.
The “Lewiston Strong” weekend is about honoring how far the city has come and recognizing the strength that continues to carry it forward. In the years since tragedy struck, The Colisée has stood as a symbol of resilience and a place where neighbors have gathered to reflect, remember, and support one another. This week represents a hopeful step forward, as the community comes together once again to share connection, pride, and purpose while continuing to honor those we lost and support ongoing healing efforts through organizations like the Maine Resiliency Center.
