The featured speaker at the River Valley Rotary Club’s Fellowship luncheon held Monday, September 22, 2025 was Jennifer Beauton, Shared Living Coordinator for HOPE Association.

Jennifer has worked at HOPE Association since 2008, holding positions throughout those years included: Job Coach, Direct Support Professional, Quality Assurance, and currently Corporate Compliance and Shared Living.

Jennifer accepted the role of Shared Living Coordinator in 2023 and helped grow the person-centered program from 15 various person programs in Shared Living to 35.
She has developed a program of providers that she has developed respected relationships with thanks to her dedication to advocacy, her ability to support, and her willingness to educate. She has passion for what she does and it shows.

The main role of the Hope Association is to provide comprehensive support and services to adults with intellectual and related disabilities, enabling them to live, work, and recreate within their communities. Their services include various types of residential support, community-based programs, vocational assistance, and case management, all designed to promote independence, personal development, and respect for the individuals they serve.

Key aspects of their work:
Residential Services: They offer various living options, including residential homes, shared living arrangements, and supported home environments.

Community Support: They provide services focused on skills development, such as motor skills, communication, self-care, and using community resources.

Community Case Management: This includes providing assistance with personal finances, daily living activities, and other needs identified by individuals and their families.

Vocational Rehabilitation: They offer support to help individuals find meaningful employment and to realize their visions of a full life.
Fundraising & Community Involvement: The association operates the “What Not Shop” thrift store, with proceeds supporting services not covered by MaineCare, and engages in various community activities and volunteerism.

Advocacy: A core aspect of their mission is to advocate for and treat individuals with intellectual and related disabilities with respect.
