The Androscoggin Retired Educators’ Association will meet at 10:00 on Wednesday October 8th at Montello Heights, 55 College St., Lewiston, Maine. Coffee will be available at 9:45 so come early and socialize with friends. The cost of the luncheon meal is $14. Checks should be made out to AREA.
This is our annual scholarship auction. AREA offers $1000 scholarships to two young people who are planning to enter the teaching profession. Come early for coffee and pastries. Bring your checkbook or piggy bank. Auction items are donated by members and consist of food items (cookies, brownies, fudge, homemade breads, etc.), books, puzzles, seasonal items such as pumpkins, gourds, and many others.
Androscoggin Retired Educators’ Association meets five times per year: September, October, November, March, and April. Dues are $10 per year for educators, $6 per year for non-educator spouses. Due are payable in September. For new members: with your registration please include address, email, phone, birthdate and the major educational school district or school where you were located.
You need not have taught in Androscoggin County, or even in the state of Maine. All educators are welcome: teachers, assistant teachers, ed techs, librarians, principals, guidance counselors, secretaries, anyone who has worked with children.
