SKOWHEGAN – Juniors and Cadettes from Girl Scout Troop 551 completed their Take Action project, which required them to find an issue within their community and then solve it in a sustainable way that will make a continual positive impact. They decided to earn funds and buy books about camping, Maine, and Girl Scouts to donate to their community libraries. These 4 scouts held a lemonade stand and bottle drive to earn the needed money for their project. Since our Juniors and Cadettes are from Fairfield and Skowhegan, they purchased 2 sets of 12 books and donated them to the children’s sections of the Lawrence Public Library and the Skowhegan Free Public Library.
