The River Valley Rotary Club celebrated its hundredth anniversary at 49 Franklin Street Rumford Maine on Monday, May 19, 2025
 T he club president, Curtis Smith introduced Roger Whitehouse to start out the celebration with a happy birthday River Valley Rotary song!
Some close to 100 members from all around the state Bethel club Bridgeton club Kittery and other areas joined in Harmony then wishing River Valley Rotary Club another hundred years. !
Feature speakers included District Governor 7780 , Bob McKenzie from Kittery who spoke about the many great things Rotary does not only for their community but internationally, then the Assistant District Governor, Joanne Landry who is a polio survivor and therefore talked about the importance of donating to the fund to eradicate polio!
There were several other speakers as well from the district governors who expanded upon all the programs the Rotary does and Support!
Then our own Jerry Cohen, former club president and chair person of Rotaplast! You spoke about all the programs that the River Valley Rotary Club has supported for the past hundred years and remark that River Valley Rotary Club not a large club has donated well over $700,000 to various organizations over the past hundred years!
Tonight‘s happy dollars shared by Jennifer Merrill as for five dollars to be donated by everybody who attended tonight‘s event toward Jerry’s favorite charity Rotoplast!
On my desk, what is Rotoplast?
Rotaplast’s primary mission is the treatment of children with cleft anomalies. In some locations, Rotaplast treats burn patients and those with other birth defects that can be corrected by plastic surgery. Occasionally, teenage and adult patients receive treatment.
A big shout out and thank you to the Rotary Club members who spent their time and energy to put on 100 anniversary of River Valley Rotary Club. This club sponsored the Bethel Rotary Club, and the Rangeley Rotary Club.
