BRIDGTON – The Bridgton-Lake Region Rotary Club will host another Community Kettle at the Bridgton Community Center on Thursday, May 1, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. As part of its ongoing support for the BCC, Rotarians—along with family and friends—will shop, prepare, plate, serve, and clean up after the event. The menu will be boneless barbecue chicken thighs, sweet potato, and coleslaw with sherbet for dessert.
Rotary Club President Dr. Lisa Ryan shared, “We Rotarians spend several hours before and during each kettle prepping food, sharing laughs, and anticipating the crowd that will enjoy the meal we prepare. Many in the community return time and again for this free meal, and any donations go directly to supporting the Community Center.”
Dedicated to service, the Bridgton-Lake Region Rotary Club actively supports local initiatives. “We have hosted Community Kettles for years and hope to hold six in 2025,” said Dr. Ryan. “Food insecurity is one of the key issues our Club seeks to address. These events not only provide nourishing meals but also offer a sense of connection, especially for those experiencing social isolation—whether due to COVID-19 or the long winters in western Maine.”
