Lost Valley Trail Network Receives $10,000 Boost from Moving ME Forward
AUBURN, Maine — Outdoor recreation at Lost Valley is about to expand, thanks to a $10,000 donation from Moving ME Forward (MMF) to kick-start the Lost Valley Trail Network (LVTN) initiative. This community-driven project, spearheaded by Bob Brainerd of Central Maine Conditioning Clinic, aims to enhance year-round accessibility for athletes, families, and outdoor enthusiasts of all abilities.
The LVTN will introduce a certified 5K and 8K trail system designed for cross-country training, races, and multi-use activities, including hiking, biking, skiing, and snowshoeing. Plans also include fitness stations and expanded trail options for various skill levels.
“This initiative is about more than just building trails—it’s about creating a space where the community can stay active and enjoy the outdoors together,” said Brainerd.
Lost Valley owner Scott Shanaman echoed this sentiment, emphasizing the project’s long-term vision. “Lost Valley has always been a hub for outdoor adventure, and with the support of MMF and our community, we can make it an even greater destination for year-round recreation.”
The project relies on community support, with organizers seeking donations, volunteers, and sponsorships to fund materials, equipment, and ongoing development.
