Lost Valley Prepares for Exciting Pre-Season Rail Jam Event
November 22, 2024 | Lost Valley, Auburn, Maine
Lost Valley, in partnership with the Lost Valley Competition Program (LVCP), is thrilled to host a Pre-Season Rail Jam on November 22, 2024, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. This dynamic event brings the freestyle energy of snow sports to the mountain before the official season begins, offering snowboarders and skiers a chance to hit the rails and showcase their skills.
This event is open to all ages and welcomes both snowboarders and freestyle skiers. Participants can preregister for $25 or sign up on-site for $35, with helmets required. Spectators are invited to enjoy the lively atmosphere, which will feature music, food, and chances to win prizes. The Pre-Season Rail Jam provides a platform for athletes to come together, share their skills, and build community ahead of the winter season.
The Lost Valley Competition Program, which has helped grassroots athletes hone their alpine and freestyle skiing and snowboarding skills, is a proud host of this event. Last season, five LVCP athletes competed at the national USASA championships in Copper, Colorado, under the guidance of their dedicated coaches, highlighting the program’s commitment to fostering local talent. The Pre-Season Rail Jam reflects LVCP’s mission of making snow sports accessible and inspiring youth in the community.
In keeping with the spirit of urban snow sports, Lost Valley will ensure the Rail Jam proceeds regardless of weather conditions, with plans to either make snow or truck it in, if necessary.
LVCP will also be hosting the annual Snow Ball Fundraiser on November 16. This event supports LVCP’s efforts to make snow sports more accessible, allowing youth from all backgrounds to participate in skiing and snowboarding at Lost Valley. Community support helps LVCP expand its programs and enhance the experience for young athletes.
