RANGELEY – The Church of the Good Shepherd in Rangeley invites the community to a Blessing of the Animals on Sunday, October 6th at 1 p.m., at 2614 Main Street in Rangeley. It will take place outside on the lakeside lawn. This event is part of the Season of Creation in the church calendar.
The custom of blessing animals is conducted in remembrance of St. Francis of Assisi and his love for all creatures great and small. The service will feature short readings and an individual blessing for each animal. Pets and beloved animals of all sorts are welcome. Little ones may bring their stuffed animal friends, and please bring photographs of pets who would not find attending the live event a blessed experience! Blessings will be offered to all. Blessing of the Animals to benefit animal shelter.
Free- will donations will be collected to benefit the Franklin County Animal Shelter. Monetary donations as well as pet supplies will be gratefully accepted.
