“Lake Days” celebration to be held in Canton on August 10
CANTON—The Lake Anasagunticook Association (LAA) will hold its annual “Lake Days” celebration at the Canton Boat Launch in Canton, Maine, on Saturday, August 10, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Additionally, kayak races and “blindfold” canoe races will be held on Canton Beach beginning at 9:45 AM, and there will be an open swim on Hartford Beach from 8:30 to 11:00 a.m. The events are in celebration of summer on the lake. The public is invited to attend. Admission is free, and the celebration will be held rain or shine.
The Lake Days celebration will take place at the Canton Boat Launch at 7 Staples Hill Road in Canton. The MC for the event will be LAA member Katie Kirwan. Buy your lunch from the Boondocks Farm Food Truck that will be on site or bring your own picnic lunch and beverages. Enjoy free ice cream, watermelon, and bottled water. There will be a slip-n-slide (for kids), a cake walk, and Bingo-and LAA swag will be available for purchase. Raffle tickets will be on sale for a chance to win prizes!
If you would like to participate in the kayak races and/or the “blindfold” canoe races, they will be held on Canton Beach with registration at 9:45 a.m. Kayakers, please bring your kayak. Canoes and blindfolds will be provided for the blindfold canoe races (a hilarious race where the paddlers are blindfolded and the passengers shout directions!). Everyone must wear a life vest to participate in either event.
Also, for those who would like to enjoy a morning swim in the lake, join us on Hartford Beach on Thompson Lane (off Church Street) from 8:30 to 11:00 AM. We’ll have free coffee and donuts there for your enjoyment.
We hope you will plan to spend some part of your day with us!
The Lake Anasagunticook Association is an all-volunteer, not-for-profit organization concerned with the preservation and protection of the lake as a natural resource. If you would like more information about this event, please email info@lakeanasagunticook.org,
