On Wednesday June 19 at approximately 1024 hours Rangeley Fire Rescue, Eustis Maine Fire Department, and NorthStar EMS were dispatched to 2454 Main Street for a possible fire in the kitchen ventilation system.
Responding units consisted of Rangeley Engine 3, Engine 2, Tower 1 and Car-1, Eustis Engine 9, and EMS unit 61.
The first fire units arrived within 2 minutes of being dispatched, and were met by one of the cooks who advised us that there was a fire in the kitchen. When more crews arrived it was found that Christy White Kitchen Manager successfully extinguished the small grease fire with a class K fire extinguisher located in the kitchen. After investigation by fire crews, it was determined that the actions of kitchen staff saved the business from further damage.
After checking for any extension into the walls and other parts of the building, all responding units cleared the scene.
