Wayne CARY MEMORIAL LIBRARY Schedule

Fall Hours: Say it isn’t so!
Monday: 9-1
Tuesday: 3-5
Wednesday: 1-7
Thursday: 3-5
Saturday: 9-3
The library will be closed Monday, Sept. 4 (Labor Day) and Monday, Oct. 9 (Indigenous People’s
Day).
Weekly Storytime: After Labor Day, we will try to have Storytime 10 am every Monday. If little
ones show up, it will happen.
Monday, Sept. 11, at 1:15 Brown Bag Book Discussion. Complementing our summer
Community Conversation, we will spend a bit more time discussing the powerful title Becoming
Nicole. On Monday October 16, at 1:15, we will talk about Mad Honey by Jodi Piccoult and
Jennifer F Boylan.
Saturday Sept. 23, 9 am-3 pm. Fall Used Book Sale: Wayne is a well-read community. I know this because the
library is well used and supported and …because we are given many, many good used books for our book sales. We
expect to have a fine selection of all genres, including good children’s books, a large selection of cookbooks, large print
books, and more. Come browse and treat yourself to a bag full of books–ready for those quiet winter days. Note: only
books in very nice condition can be accepted, thank you for understanding.
Friends of the Library: All FOL members and anyone interested are invited to our Fall Planning Meeting on Sept.
30, 9:30am. We’ll hear the year’s round-up of successful programs, choose new co-chairs, and make plans
going forward. We’d love to have your participation. Also, please watch for our Fall Spring Bulb Sale in late
September. (If you’ve wanted early Snowdrops in your spring garden, here’s your chance.) Details coming. And, if you
enjoyed the November Soup-to-Go Sale last year, stay tuned for updates as we get into Fall.
Harvest time at the Williams House Tower Garden! You’ll see the greens in the tower on the Williams House
patio. Please feel free to pinch off a serving or two and leave the plant to continue producing. Spring Greens, basil and
lettuces are ready, with more coming along.
ALICE IN WONDERLAND ROOM at the Williams House- Will be open 9/2 during First Saturday, 9am-12noon but we
also are very happy to open up for you to enjoy. Have summer friends or family/grandkids visiting? Please give us
a call and we will arrange a time for your visit, Holly, 685-9005 or Cindy, 685-4235
First Saturday at the Cary Memorial Library’s Williams House
September 2, 2023, 9 a.m. until noon
Here comes the last First Saturday of the Summer. Can you believe it? Do drop by and enjoy
the coffee and goodies and visiting with old and new friends. Browse our 4 rooms of books
and interesting things.
The boutique items that were packed away for the Cary Library’s Silent Auction will be
unpacked and displayed for you. Perhaps you will see an item you hadn’t noticed. Among
those interesting items are a Japanese tea set, a Williams Sonoma popcorn maker, a stunning
silver-based salad bowl, antique glass vases and moustache cups, outdoor- themed flags and
banners, and art for your walls.
The Alice in Wonderland Room will be open and also is available by appointment.
We look forward to seeing you
