BETHEL – Bethel Rotary inducted its 40th member, Tammy Vermette, at its final meeting in February.
Vermette was sponsored by Rotarian Scott Hynek and inducted by President Jean Benedict.
Members were updated on the Immigrant Resettlement Initiative in Lewiston by Rotarian Scott Parker, who has been working with Adam Leff from Gould Academy.
There was also a presentation by Noah Tanguay Collins, executive director of River Fund Maine, who talked about the organization’s growing and diverse scholarship opportunities and career counseling/mentoring for students in the Bethel area.
Earlier in the month, Wade Kavanaugh, co-owner of the Gem Theater and Kate Webb, program director of Bethel Area Arts and Music, discussed bringing art and music events for all ages to the area. The club also welcomed 39th member, Joan Nichols, of Hanover, who was sponsored by Marilyn DiPhillipo.
