Madison Legion Auxiliary turkey pie sale raises more than $2,000

Feb. 232023

MADISON – American Legion Auxiliary Tardiff-Belanger Unit 39 had another successful turkey pie sale, making and selling 162 pies, with the proceeds benefiting areal food pantries.
The auxiliary traditionally held a turkey pie dinner every November, but switched the pie sale during the pandemic, and has found that it is a popular event.
After expenses, a total $2,295 was raised and was donated to five local food cupboards.
Renys of Madison donated 100 pie plates, Apple Tree Bakery gave discounted price for the pie boxes, along with members donating turkeys and many of the items needed such as flour, vegetables, Crisco, etc., and their time making pies.
The pie sale is one of many ways American Legion Auxiliary members support the community. Visit www.mainelegionpost39.org for more information.
