SKOWHEGAN – A benefit is being held for the Simonds/Corson family, who have lost one child, with another hospitalized, in an Oct. 28 car accident in Madison.
The benefit is hosted by Cub Scout Pack 485, which the family’s children have been involved in and is 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 13, at Centenary United Methodist Church, 113 Dr. Mann Road.
“Two of their boys have participated, learned to be leaders, and helped the community,” said Cubmaster Shanna Brown. “The family is struggling with grief, injuries and the uncertainty of their youngest, who is still in critical condition. We are keeping them all in our hearts and prayers.”
All of the proceeds from the benefit spaghetti dinner. 100% of all proceeds will go directly to the family for funeral, medical expenses, bills and anything else they need, Brown said.
The 7-year-old son of Ashley Corson and Robert Simonds died in the crash and their 1-year-old son suffered serious head injuries. Corson, Simonds and their 9-year-old son were also injured, though not as seriously.
