Two classic Maine fairs — the Topsham Fair and the Skowhegan State Fair — get underway this week.
The Topsham FAir is Aug. 9 to 14, at the Topsham Fairgrounds, in Topsham.
It includes agricultural exhibits, animal pull events, 4-H, crafts, midway and harness racing. Major events incomde the demolition derby, truck pulls and livestock competition.

The Skohwegan State Fair is Aug. 11 to 20 at the Skowhegan State Fairgrounds, 33 Constitution Ave., Skowhegan.
Each of the Fair’s 10 days is full of performances, competitions, livestock, exhibits, food and more. Major events include demolition derby, truck pulls, livestock events.
