Fourth of July parades, events, fireworks, set for central Maine

Towns across Maine will celebrate the Fourth of July Monday with events, parades, fireworks and more. Here are just a few in the Turner Publishing circulation area:

AUGUSTA
10 a.m. Parade — Starts in the State House parking lot and proceeds down State Street, around Memorial Circle, to Water Street, then across Bridge Street bridge to Fort Western.
Noon — Augusta Mayor Mark O’Brien reads the Declaration of Independence at Fort Western (it was origally read there in 1789), followed by 13 cannon volleys.
2 p.m.-Dark — Events at Mill Park include ax throwing, bounce houses, arts and crafts fpr kids, corn hole, live music beginning at 4:30
9 p.m. Fireworks over the Kennebec River from both the East Side Boat Landing and Mill Park.

BELGRADE
Events in Belgrade Lakes Village begin at 10 a.m. with special features at businesses along Main Street, vendors and more, some are:
9 a.m. – 6 p.m. Winterberry Farm, 538 Augusta Road, (two miles south of the village, self-guided farm tours, Farmi 10 a.m.-3 p.m. – FreeKids’ activities at 7 Lakes Alliance, both at 137 Main St. and the annex (next to the post office).
11 a.m.-3 p.m. United Methodist Church Strawberry Shortcake (and more) sale $5; hot dogs and sausage ($3), seltzer or water ($1) to benefit church activities.
Noon — Boat Parade, Mill Stream.
4 p.m. — Parade, from Rome Farm to Village Green.
6:30-8:30 p.m. Live Music, The Street, Lakehome Group Real Estate, 75 Main St.
9:15 p.m. Fireworks over Long Pond.

CLINTON
10 a.m.-Dark — Live music, craft fair, kids events, Maine State Police K-9 demonstration, horse show, professional wrestling, Clinton Fairground, 1450 Bangor Road. unds at 1450 Bangor Road.
9 p.m. – Fireworks

FARMINGTON
10 a.m.- Parade, events downtown to follow.

HALLOWELL
10 a.m.-2 p.m. — Original broadside of the Declaration of Independence at City Hall, 1 Winthrop St.

TURNER
10 a.m – Parade, events on Turner Green to follow

WATERFORD
7:30-10 a.m. – Breakfast, Wilkins House, Plummer Hill, Waterford, $10, $5 for under 10, proceeds benefit Wilkins House upkeep.
11 a.m. — Parade, from the school down Valley Road to the beach
Events on the common include farmers market, vendors, lunch, as well as:
8 a.m.-noon — Public library book sale
9 a.m.-noon — Historical Society museums open to public
Noon — Duck Race (Benefits Waterford-Harrison PTO)
