AYCC offering free drive-thru Thanksgiving dinners Nov. 20

Nov. 172021

WATERVILLE – The Alfond Youth & Community Center will hold a free drive-up Thanksgiving Dinner at noon in the AYCC parking lot, 126 North St.
The dinner is open to everyone in the community. Drive up and tell the volunteer how many dinners you want. The menu includes turkey, mashed potatoes, stuffing, gravy, mixed vegetables, cranberry sauce and either apple or pumpkin pie. Up to 1,500 meals will be served.
Children in the AYCC afterschool program will also be taking home fixings to their families on Nov. 18 and 19, that will include all ingredients needed for a full Thanksgiving dinner, including the turkey. The food is made possible through the support of Central Maine Motors. The program serves families in Waterville, Canaan, Norridgewock, Oakland and China.
It takes an average $50 to put a Thanksgiving meal on a table. To support the AYCC efforts, consider donating $50, which will pay for 25 drive-thru dinners or two family dinners in a bag, or $25, which feeds 15 people at the drive-thru dinner or buys one family dinner in a bag.
