Scouting uniform bank, food drive is Sept. 22

WATERVILLE — The Kennebec Valley District of Scouting is holding its annual Uniform Bank/Scouting for Food Night/Scouts Sign Up Night from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 22, at Waterville Goodwill, The Concourse downtown.
The event is open to all youth connected to Scouting in the greater Waterville and Augusta areas. Youth interested in Scouting can join at the event.
Youth who are in Scouting or joining Scouting and need a uniform will get one, as well as a hat, book, insignias and other supplies, while they last. The uniforms are previously owned, but are still good and have been cleaned.
Scouts will also collect food for the Pleasant Street Methodist Church Food Bank as part of the Scouting for Food Drive, and those attending my bring non-perishables to donate. There is a high need for canned vegetables, canned ravioli and spaghetti, condiments (ketchup, mustard, salt, etc.) and granola bars.
Every youth who brings a food item will get a “Scouting for Food” patch.
