Maine cancer organizations joining in virtual National Cancer Survivors Day June 6

NORWAY — Sunday, June 6, is the 34th annual National Cancer Survivors Day, an annual celebration of life that is held around the world.
The day is a celebration for those who have survived, an inspiritaion for those recently diagnosed, a gathering of support for families and an outreach to the community.
A network of nine cancer related organizations across Maine, including the Cancer Resource Center of Western Maine, Beth Wright Cancer Center, Dempsey Centers, Sarah’s House and Christine B. Foundation, have come together to form the Association of Maine Cancer Support Centers, which has a goal to expand the availability of support services and programs to all Mainers affected by cancer.
Association members are collaborating to offer a variety of recorded virtual programming: survivor interviews, healthy cooking demonstrations, wellness activities and other great information.
