Free Thanksgiving dinners will be given out Nov. 21 in Waterville

WATERVILLE — The Waterville Boys & Girls Clubs and YMCA of Greater Waterville at the Alfond Youth & Community Center will hand out more than 750 individually packaged Thanksgiving dinners from 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 21, in the youth center parking lot, 126 North St.
The meal giveaway is open to all. Drive up to a volunteer, request the number of freshly cooked meals, then enjoy. The meal includes turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy, cranberry sauce and rolls, mixed veggies and pumpkin pie for dessert.
“In the midst of this difficult and stressful time we are so happy to still be able to offer this free Thanksgiving Dinner to our community members,” said AYCC CEO Ken Walsh. “And thanks to the folks at Central Maine Motors, we are able to offer an additional 150 packed Thanksgiving dinner makings for our afterschool program families.”
After donating 150 frozen turkeys, Chris and Linanne Gaunce pulled the Central Maine Motors team together to fill 150 accompanying bags with all the fixings to complete the take home dinner.
“Our families are so thankful to know their Holiday meals are taken care of,” said Chrissy Johnson, AYCC child and youth development director.
