Free concert Oct. 17 at Fort Halifax will raise money, food for local pantries

WINSLOW – At a time of greatly increased food-insecurity among Maine children, seniors and other adults, a free benefit concert, “All Souls Matter: Rock the Block” will raise money and gather non-perishable food donations for Winslow Community Cupboard food bank and KVCC Food Pantry.
The free benefit concert will be held in Fort Halifax Park, U.S. Route 201, from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 17, and will feature live performances from two contemporary Christian bands, Exit 244 [3] and Clayfoot [4].
Attendees are asked to consider bringing monetary donations (cash or check), or nonperishable food items such as canned meat, canned vegetables, canned fruit,canned soup, boxed pasta, rice, coffee, tea, or other boxed or canned nonperishable food.
