Waterville Public Library launches new seed library March 28

WATERVILLE — The Waterville Public Library is launching a seed library. The launch celebration will be from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Saturday March 28 at the library, 73 Elm St., for an afternoon of snacks, activities and seeds.
Those attending can learn about the new seed collection and enjoy good food. There will be activities for all ages and participants can leave with their own seeds.
The purpose of the seed library is to share with all community members the resources to grow their own healthy, sustainable food at no cost. The Waterville Library is committed to sharing knowledge and resources with the Waterville community and we are proud to now offer seeds as part of our collection, a news release about the libary said.
The seed library collection was started with donations from Healthy Northern Kennebec and the Alfond Youth Center Biodome Program, and funding and support from the Colby College Office of Civic Engagement and the Waterville Public Library.
