Artist Owad reception, talk is Feb. 1 at Waterville Public Library

WATERVILLE — There were be a reception for artist Liana Owad from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 1, at the Waterville Public Library, 73 Elm St.
Owad will also talk about her art and her show, “Layered Perspective.”
The event, which is free and open to the public, will be in the library’s Carnegie Art Gallery.
Owad works with traditional and contemporary mediums to create sculptures and works on paper. She is based in Waterville and is the sculpture studio technician at Maine College of Art. The body of work in “Layer Perspective” is a selection of wood block prints made while living abroad. With these works Owad is exploring the domestic space and addresses the ideas of comfort and confinement in the home.
The gallery is open during regular library hours.
