Waterville UU Coffee House offering night of comedy Jan. 11

WATERVILLE — The Universalist Unitarian Church of Waterville, 69 Silver St., will host a night of comedy via its UU Coffeehouse, featuring “Stand-Up Chameleon” Jackson Gillman at 7 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 11, as part of a fundraiser to defray the cost of a recently installed lift, allowing people with disabilities to have access to religious services and fellowship after the service.
Jackson has been performing throughout the country for 40 years. Through his many talents as songsmith, movement artist and storyteller, he engages and delights audiences of all ages. His concert will include topical originals and some familiar tunes. The audience will be tempted and invited to sing along but will find many of the lyrics have been comically adjusted. No musical form is safe or sacred in his rollicking revue of musical foolishness and finesse; however, there is an underlying foundation of beneficence, hope and spirit infusing his work. Admission is $15 for adults and $5 for children.
