WATERVILLE — There will be a free community Thanksgiving dinner from 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 13, at the Alfond Commuity Youth Center Triple Gymnasium, 126 North St.
The dinner will include turkey, stuffing, gravy, cranberry sauce, rolls, corn and carrors with pumpkin and apple pie for dessert.
In 2017, the center served 805 full dinners to community residents Sacred Heart Soup Kitchen, Families Matter, Mid-Maine Homeless Shelter, Reach & Rise Therapeutic Mentoring Program and the AYCC After School Program. The average American family spends $50 on Thanksgiving dinner, organizaers of the dinner said. The same amount will feed 30 people at the commuity dinner.
