Madison American Legion, Auxiliary planning two October events

MADISON — The American Legion and American Legion Auxiliary will celebrate the organizations’ 100th birthday from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 19, with cake and ice cream at Madison American Legion Hall, 20 South Maple St.
The public is invited to attend, and there is no admission. A recognition ceremony in honor of World War II veterans will take place at 1:30 p.m. of WWII Members at 1:30.
The public also is invited to join Legion and Auxiliary members for Make A Difference Day from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Oct. 26, at the Madison American Legion Hall. There will be a card-making, coloring and decoration session, with cards to be mailed out to veterans in recognition of Veterans Day.
This, too, is a free event, sponsored by the members of the American Legion Auxiliary, Madison Unit #39; refreshments will be provided.
