Vendors, crafters sought for Bowdoin fire auxiliary Oct. 12 garage sale

BOWDOIN — The Bowdoin Fire Department’s Women’s Auxiliary will hold their annual fall garage sale, bake sale and raffle from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 12.
The sale will be held inside the fire department garage on Cornish Drive off of Main Street in Bowdoin (next to Town Hall). Table rentals are $10 each and can be reserved by calling Alberta Greenleaf at 207-666-5752 or Patty Elwell at 207-666-5974. Crafters are also invited to rent tables. Tables are 8 feet long and all goods must be placed on or under the table to avoid tripping hazards. Please reserve enough tables to display your goods. Doors will be open for vendor setup at 8 a.m.
In addition to the bake sale, steamed hot dogs with all the fixings will be available for purchase, as well as chips and both hot and cold beverages. All vendors get free hot coffee. Raffle tickets can be purchased ahead of time from members of the auxiliary or at the day of the event. Drawings for the raffle prizes will be held at 2 p.m. Those who are drawn for prizes need not be present to win.
Clean out all those no longer needed items from your attics, garages, etc., and earn some extra cash while helping out the community. Profits from table rental fees, bake sale and raffle will go to the Bowdoin Fire Dept. auxiliary to help us in serving the community.
The auxiliary and the Bowdoin Volunteer Fire Department are still offering two-sided reflective metal signs with your street number for $15.
These signs will help the fire department and 911 responders find your residence easily in an emergency, day or night. So, if you haven’t already bought a sign, take this opportunity to order one at the garage sale.
Signs are dark blue with white letters. Payment will be expected at the time of ordering. You will be notified when your sign is ready.
