Art for Weston raffle helps Weston Woods effort

MADISON — Nine artists are donating works to the Somerset Woods Trustees to help protect 275-acre Weston Woods forest for conservation and recreation.
Once conserved, the land will be available for hiking, mountain biking, birding, snowshoeing and skiing on a three-mile trail along the Kennebec River. Nine area artists have created Art for Weston, which is being raffled off to raise money for the conservation project. Ticket sales end at 11:55 p.m. Sept. 20.
There will also be a celebration of Weston Woods at the Weston Homestead at 4:30 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 7. It is free and open to the public. In the event of heavy rain, the the event will be held Sunday, Sept. 8. For more information, visit artforweston.rallyup.com.
