Free screening of ‘About John’ is Aug. 8 at Good Will-Hinckley

FAIRFIELD — There will be a free special screening of the new short documentary “About John,” at 7 p.m, Thursday, Aug. 8, in Prescott Building on the Good Will-Hinckley campus in Hinckley.
The film shares the life of a friend of the L.C. Bates Museum, and president of the Museum Committee, John Willey. Willey attended Good Will-Hinckley and now lives in Waterville.
Filmmaker Lauren Shaw pays tribute to the poet, woodworker and boat builder, and the visual richness of the world he inhabits.
Refreshments and a question and answer session will follow the screening, and Willey will also be present and read some of his poems.
