MADISON — The Madison Veterans of Foreign Wars hall was filled with laughter and ceremony as Adam Folsom of Scout Troop 403 received the Eagle Scout rank during a ceremony June 22. The medal was pinned to his chest by his mother, Janine Folsom; Scoutmaster Larry Goldsmith led Adam in the charge that all Eagles take to redidcate themselves to the lofty principles of Scouting.
Adam, who wants to be a pipeline welder and travel the United States, led a service project that saw more nearly 200 hours of work in building, installing and marking the GPS coordinates of each sign. This was part of improvements for snowmobile trail signs to ease navigation for riders.
Adam received congratulations from state Sen Brad Farrin, R-Somerset, the Madison VFW, and from a representative from U.S. Sen. Susan Collins, R-Maine. Letters from U.S. Sen. Angus King, I-Maine, and U.S. Rep. Jared Golden, D-Maine 2nd District, were read during the ceremony.
