GREENE — Greene Thumb Alternatives, a medical marijuana store offering alternative healing strategies for a variety of medical conditions, will hold a grand opening Sunday, April 7.
The event will be from noon to 4 p.m., and feature free food and music.
Owners Jim and Kim Melanson have been caregivers for the Maine Medical Marijuana Program for the past five years.
The recent changes in MMMP laws pushed the two caregivers to open a store with the goal of expanding their products and providing quality, natural, healing products as an alternative to pharmaceuticals. “Our goal is to provide quality medical cannabis products to all of our clients.
“Our products have helped people overcome anxiety, insomnia, muscle pain and fibromyalgia, in addition to a variety of skin conditions,” the owners said. “We offer a strain of marijuana, Candida, that has a high percentage of cannabidiol yet has virtually no tetrahydrocannabinol for people who would like to try marijuana as an alternative to tobacco but avoid the psychedelic effects of THC.”
For those who do not have a medical marijuana certification card, Greene Thumb Alternatives offers onsite certification by appointment.
“Just call the store and Chris, our storefront manager, will schedule you for an appointment with a licensed nurse practitioner,” they said. “The entire process takes only 10 to 15 minutes.”
Greene Thumb Alternatives offers medical cannabis products in the form of flower, tincture, edibles, extractions, distillates, salves and vape products, available on site and in the form of CBD and THC. If they do not have a product available that you desire, just inquire and the three-person sales team will make every effort to meet your needs.
The grand opening will feature deals on their products, including discounts, coupons and buy-one get-one free for selected items.
