Teachers Lounge Mafia among Treat Memorial Library April events

LIVERMORE FALLS — April events at Treat Memorial Library include the Teacher’s Lounge Mafia, light boxes to help combat Seasonal Affective Disorder and more.

The improv troupe Teachers Loungw Mafia will perform at 7 p.m. Saturday, April 20, at the library, 56 Main St. Proceeds from the all-ages show will go toward purchase of new computers and children’s programming at the library.
There will be snacks for $1, and a 50/50 raffle. Tickets for the show are $8 and are for sale at the library and at the door the night of the show. Anyone who bought a ticket for the canceled October show may use it for this one. Seating is limited.
For those who suffer from more than just the “winter blues” — Seasonal Affective Disorder — the library has light boxes that can be tried out by patrons. One of the least invasive treatments for SAD is light therapy. Check out of of the library’s two lightboxes at the circulation desk, review the instructions, find a quiet corner in the library near an electrical outlet and relax. The boxes go not leave the building, but are there for patrons’convenience. They are not recommended for young children. Even though it’s almost spring, those who suffer from the disorder know that the treatment is needed not only in winter. Library activities in April are: Preschool Story Time: 10:30 a.m. Wednesdays with stories, activities and crafts. Knit/Crochet Group “Lost My Stitches: 5:30 p.m. Tuesday and is for both those experienced with knitting/crocheting and newcomers. Bring your questions and share your creations.
