FAIRFIELD — The L.C. Bates Museum will mark National Chemistry Week with a “Let’s Do Chemistry” event from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, Oc. 21.
The event is free, family-friendly and open to the public. Participants will work with chemistry kits to explore chemicals in water and scents, make a battery, send up a small rocket and more, explore light and more.
Visitors will also explore exhibits to see chemistry at work and learn how chemistry improves their lives. Colby College chemistry students will partner with the museum to guide visitors of all ages in exploring and enjoying chemistry.
The event at L. C. Bates Museum is part of a nationwide festival of educational programs about ways to experiment, explore, and tackle challenges with chemistry.
