Laura E. (Taylor) McDermott
1956-2018
WATERVILLE — Laura Elizabeth (Taylor) McDermott, 61, passed away Sept. 21, 2018, at her home, with her family by her side.
She was born Nov. 14, 1956, in Los Angeles, Calif., the daughter of John Henry and Emma Elizabeth (Hilton) Taylor.
She was a graduate of Skowhegan Area High School, class of 1976. On Aug. 8, 1987, she married Richard McDermott in Skowhegan.
In the 1980s, she worked as a waitress, then as a stay-at-home mom. She enjoyed watching her favorite soap operas, and spending time with family and her close friends, Velma and Donna. Her grandchildren were what she woke up for every day, playing anything they wanted.
Laura is survived by her husband of 30 years, Richard McDermott of Waterville; two daughters, Emma Cote of Waterville and Kayla Clark-Fickett of Waterville; two sons, Joshua Cote of Augusta and Jeff Libby of Waterville; two granddaughters, Ashleigh Cote of Augusta and Carly Burnell of Waterville; five grandsons, Kobe Sargent of Waterville, Gavin Burnell of Waterville, Joshua Cote, Jr of Augusta, Samuel Seilonen of Waterville and Kevin Swett; niece, Sherri Bridges of Knoxville, Tennessee; many other neices and nephews.
There will be no visitation hours or funeral service,
