Sally S. (Stenson) Barney
1929-2018

SKOWHEGAN — Sally S. Barney died Aug. 24, at Woodlawn Rehabilitation & Living Center.
She was born Aug. 23, 1929, in New Castle, Pa., the daughter of George and Merle (Bowler) Stetson.

She attended schools in Girard, Ohio, and married Fred Barney in 1950. She worked for the state of California Highway Department for many years, then moved to Maine after her husband died in 1997 to be close to her sister, Shirley Holmes, and her family. She was an active member of the United Methodist Church in Waterville and a member of the Waterville Heritage Club. Sally lived at the Sunset Home in Waterville for eight years. She enjoyed weaving, reading and being with friends and family.
Sally is survived by nieces and nephews, Scott and Pat Holmes, Gail Demmons, Lee and Harold Francis, Noel and Reid Stetson and a special cousin, G.G. Roberts, of Skowhegan.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.
