Madison-Anson Days Down on the Farm celebration is Aug. 23-26

MADISON — The annual Madison-Anson Days celebration‚ Down on the Farm — will be held from Thursday, Aug. 23 through Sunday Aug. 26 at several venues in both towns.
The schedule for the events is:

Thursday, Aug. 23
MADISON
10 a.m. — Book Sale at Madison Public Library 11 a.m. — 6:30 p.m. — Craft & Vendors at Skowhegan Savings Bank 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. — Backyard Farms Charity DYNAMITE Cook Off at Main Street Park (to benefit the family of Cpl. Eugene Cole and the Special Olympics, $3)
ANSON
6 p.m. — Kids Power Wheels Demolition Derby at Garrett Schenck School (ages 2-8, $5 to register, $1 admission, must pre-register and sign waiver at Anson Town Office by 4 p.m. on 8/23)

Friday, Aug. 24
MADISON
9 a.m. — Kids Bike Race at 55 Weston Ave. 10 a.m. — Book Sale at Madison Library 10:30 a.m. — Bike Rodeo at Main Street Park 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. — Craft & Vendors at Skowhegan Savings Bank 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. — Lobster Bake at the American Legion hall 7 p.m. — Football game, Madison/Carrabec vs. Skowhegan at Madison High School
ANSON
2 to 8 p.m. — Anson carnival & farm products; activities include mechanical bull, dunk tank, pie-eating contest, Zorb ball, petting zoo, climbing wall and more, Anson Town Office. ($5 bracelets) 3 to 8 p.m. — Antique tractor and farm displays; wood carving by Brad Clark 5 to 8 p.m. — Pony rides (100 lb. limit, $1 per ride) 5 p.m. — Corn hole tournament (register by 4:30 p.m.) 6 p.m. — Pig Scramble at Anson Town Office (sign up by 5:30 p.m., $3 to scramble, ages 4 to 12, bring a towel)

Saturday, Aug. 25
9 a.m. — Antique Tractor Show at Anson Town Office 9 a.m. — 1 p.m. Farmers Market at Skowhegan Savings 9 to 2 p.m. Craft fair at SRS School, Pleasant Street, Madison (Sponsored by the Daughters of Isabella) 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. — Craft & Vendors at Skowhegan Savings Bank 10 a.m. — Parade along Main Street from Anson to Madison (Line up at Garret Schenck School at 9 a.m.) 10 a.m to 2 p.m. — Walk-In-Bingo at the American Legion, Madison 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. — Family Fun Day at Madison Main Street Park & Playground ($5 bracelets) 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. — Weston Homestead Open House 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. — Chicken BBQ at Piper’s House of Beauty (To benefit the Knights of Columbus) 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. — 3-on-3 basketball tournament at Madison Public Courts (to benefit the family of Cpl.
