BETHEL — The Mahoosuc Land Trust’s annual Whitecap Gourmet hike will be Saturday, Aug. 3. Hikers may gather at 9 a.m. at the trailhead in Andover.
The hike is a moderate 4.6-mile round-trip, with panoramic views and lots of blueberries.
The gourmet element of the hike depends on participants. At the summit, hikers will eat picnic items they have all brought to share, the definition of gourmet being as safe or wild as your imagination.
In addition to bringing a picnic item, hikers are asked to wear sturdy, sensible hiking shoes and come prepared with water and sun and insect protection.
To reach the trailhead drive north on Route 5 from U.S. Route 2 for three miles. Turn right to cross the bridge, then left on East Andover Road. The parking lot is 200 yards on the left.
