HINCKLEY — The L. C. Bates Museum at Good Will-Hinckley will host a vernal pool walk at 7 p.m. Saturday, April 28.
Vernal pools are temporary, so there is a limited amount of time to discover their beauty.
Visitors will learn about these uniquely ephemeral habitats and discover which frogs and salamanders have emerged from their long winter nap Can you tell what frogs are about just by listening to their chorus? Additionally, there is a frog program for kids earlier the same day at 1p.m. Children will learn about the frog life cycle and identify the incredible adaptations that make frogs so special. In honor of Save the Frogs Day, museum educators will also talk about what people can do to help amphibians.
Those attending should bring a flashlight and wear boots.
