Transportation will be focus of River Valley appreciation dinner

MEXICO — Region 9 Applied School of Technology in Mexico truck-driving instructor Eddy Naples and culinary arts instructor Ryan Kimball will host the second annual Transportation in the River Valley dinner at Region 9 Vocational School 6 p.m. Tuesday, May 1, at the school, 377 River Road. RSVPs should be made by April 25.

Naples said this meal is an opportunity for drivers to get together, share stories about the winter season and its challenges while partaking of a great meal.
Anyone from the area involved in transportation in one fashion or another who would like to enjoy a great dinner with fellow drivers is welcome to attend. “The first dinner was attended by plow truck drivers, oil truck drivers, delivery drivers, dump truck drivers, log haulers, equipment operators, school bus drivers, mechanics and sales people,” he added.
There will be door prizes along with guest speaker Steve Whitcomb, safety director from H.O. Bouchard Co., providing transportation services and 18-wheeler truck maintenance, out of their facility in Hampden. Companies are asked to contribute prizes for the raffle at the dinner.
