SKOWHEGAN — The Skowhegan Free Public Library will present a discussion on “Lessons from Avian Haven Wild Bird Rehabilitation Center — A Citizen’s Guide to Helping the Birds of Maine,” at 6:30 p.m. Monday, April 23.
Laura Suomi-Lecker, education and outreach coordinator and long-time volunteer with Avian Haven, located at 418 North Palermo Road in Freedom, will be the speaker.
She is also the technical director at Somerset County Soil and Water Conservation District, where she conducts a variety of bird-related programs.
Recent cases of Avian Haven will be highlighted, including injured eagles, owls, hawks, loons and many species of songbirds.
