Waterville’s Common Street Arts hosts youth exhibition through March 31

WATERVILLE — Common Street Arts, the programming arm of Waterville Creates! is hosting Youth Art Month, an exhibition celebrating the community’s young artists, through March 31
This year’s theme is “building community through art” and is an opportunity to showcase the creative endeavors of area youth while highlighting the beneficial effects of artistic practice as part of the educational experience, the organization said in a news release.

The art is created by kindergarteners through 12th graders in greater Waterville, and emphasizse the value of the visual arts that are often overlooked as part of a standard core curriculum.

The Common Street Arts gallery, 93 Main St., is open noon to 5 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday.
