BATH — While fundraisers for nonprofits are common, the 21-year tradition of Mud Boots & Black Tie involves hosts opening their home to welcome people for dinner.

Guests have two options for dinner formats April 7 — throughout the greater Bath area Mud Boots hosts will welcome guests into their homes or supporters may attend a dinner catered by local celebrities at the Annex of the Chocolate Church.
No matter the choice, everyone is invited to gather at the end of the evening to share experiences and enjoy a live concert at the Chocolate Church, 804 Washington St. This event works at multiple levels, but at the core of its success is the community it creates and reinforces.
The local celebrity hosts, who will cater the dinner at the Annex, are actors and directors who have been involved in community theater for years, so their dinner will have a special dramatic (and improvisational) flair.
Mud Boots & Black Tie Gala is the largest fundraiser of the year for the venue, because ticket sales provide only 40 percent of the operating budget. The Chocolate Church is dedicated to serving as the community arts center for the region, showcasing the best in local, regional, national and international musicians, community theatre and variety shows for all ages. Dinner hosts donate all the costs of the meal, so all ticket price goes to support the Chocolate Church.
