WATERVILLE — The Waterville Public Library has declared Feb. 14 Amnesty Day, when borrowers may return overdue items anytime during normal business hours — 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. — and all overdue fees will be waived. After returning the overdue books, patrons are invited to stop by the information desk and enjoy a cup of hot chocolate.
Amnesty Day lasts for one day only and does not include pre-existing overdue fees or replacement costs for damaged items. Fines will be waived only for books returned that day and not previously-returned books with a fine already imposed.
