Philip M. Church Sr.
1926-2017
AUGUSTA — Philip M. Church Sr., 91, of Skowhegan, passed away peacefully, Dec. 14, at MaineGeneral Medical Center with his family by his side. He was born Oct. 1, 1926, in Lewiston, the son of Glendower A. Sr. and Hazel E. (Chaney) Church.
He was educated in the Madison school system and later served in both the United States Navy and the United States Air Force until his honorable discharge. He was a resident of Skowhegan for many years.
Philip is survived by his son, Philip Church Jr. and wife Terry of Winslow; a daughter, Sandra Moon and husband Brent of Freeport; the love of his life, Flo Harlow of Casco and her daughter, Terry Thomas of Windham; he will be dearly missed by his family, including several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many good friends. He was predeceased by his parents, brother, Glendower Jr., and a sister, Phylis.
The family would like to express special thanks to the staff at the Maine Veteran’s Home Residential Care facility for the exceptional care their loved one has received over the past few years.
A private celebration of life will be held at the convenience of the family Arrangements under the direction of Dan & Scott’s Cremation & Funeral Service, 445 Waterville Road, Skowhegan.
