Waterville Public Library has kid, teen activities in December

WATERVILLE — The Waterville Public Library has a lot of activities scheduled to keep kids and teens busy during December, including crafts, games and movies.

Kids and their families can make holiday cards at the library from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Dec. 2, in the Fireplace Room. Art supplies will be available in the Fireplace Room. The event is free and open to the public.

Movies for teenagers will be screened at 4 p.m. Thursdays from Dec. 7 through Dec. 28, in the Teen Room.

The movies are free and open to students ages 11 to 18. Light refreshments will be provided. The list of movies can be found on the library’s website.e

Teen Maker Mondays, which are from 3 to 4 p.m., will feature Minecraft paper crafts Dec. 4; Harry Potter-inspired Golden Snitches Dec. 11; and DIY fingerless gloves out of repurposed fabric, Dec. 18. The programs are in the library’s Bartlett Room and are free of charge to students age 11 to 18.

Monday is also the day of teh week for Teen Game Night, from 4 to 6 p.m. Board games available include Settlers of Catan, One Night Ultimate Werewolf, Apples to Apples, Exploding Kittens, Munchkin, Fluxx, Monopoly and more. There are games for the library’s Wii and PS3 as well. The program is free and open to ages 11 to 18. Light refreshments will be provided.
