WAYNE — The Cary Memorial Library 5k run/walk will be held Saturday, Aug. 5.
The event is open to the public and is a benefit for the library.
The course starts at the Wayne Elementary School, and is primarily a flat course with one good hill. There will be an official timer and prizes for top finishers.
Walkers are welcome, too, with fast walkers in front, and slower walkers, kids, pets and strollers toward the back. It’s a family-friendly event with prizes for all kids who participate. Spectators are encouraged as well.
The registration fee is $15, and registration begins at 8:15 a.m. The race is at 9 a.m.
The race is followed by the Cary Library Lobster Roll Lunch beginning at 10 a.m., with lots of fun activities, including a loon calling contest.
