Lisbon Community Federal Credit Union president receives award

PORTLAND — George Roy, president, CEO and 31-year employee at Lisbon Community Federal Credit Union, was recently awarded the Maine Credit Union League’s 2017 James M. Gratto Award for Outstanding Credit Union CEO. This award is chosen from nominations received by the league from credit unions all over the state.

The league reviews the criteria of those who go above and beyond, choosing one special winner each year.
The annual state convention and awards banquet took place May 19 to 20 at the Holiday Inn. The event marks the Maine Credit Union League’s 79th annual meeting and convention.

The two-day event featured a strong program highlighting the annual delegates’ meeting, as well as renowned speakers, educational sessions, and top notch entertainment for the Friday evening dinner and awards banquet. More than 850 attendees registered for the convention, representing the highest turnout in at least three decades.

The Maine CU league’s awards have been presented annually since 1973 and recognize outstanding individuals who excel in their work. Founded in 1959, Lisbon Community Federal Credit Union is a not-for-profit, full-service financial institution owned by and operated for its members.
