NORRIDGEWOCK — The Norridgewock Board of Selectmen recently approved a request for proposals for the purchase and redevelopment of the old fire station at 70 Main St. The building, built in 1960, was used as a fire station until January 2016 when the Norridgewock Fire Department relocated to its new station at 22 Upper Main St.
The Tax Increment Financing Advisory Committee has worked to develop criteria for evaluating proposals, paired with the development of a focus for the committee’s work. The vision for the committee is to focus on the corridors of U.S Route 2 and State Route 139 in an effort to inspire further investment in the community. Proposals for the fire station will be accepted at the Town Office, 16 Perkins St., until July 21 at 4:00 p.m. local time. The next meeting of the TIF committee is Tuesday, May 23, beginning at 5 p.m. at the town office.
